Before you get invested in exercise - although many don't like to admit it - it's a good idea to have a routine physical and a fitness test to make sure you aren't missing any niggling weaknesses that can lead to injury. For example, poor balance makes ankle injuries a lot more likely, so many boomers spend time improving their balance before they start up a running program.
