From Cory Silverberg, your Guide to Sexuality
I've been a bit preoccupied this past week. I'm working on a new book - the first in a series of three books for parents to read with their children about sexual health - and last Wednesday I launched it online for people to pre-order. The response has been huge and as a result my head has been all about numbers. Now I don't usually like using numbers to talk about sex. It seems like the easy way out, and also like an invitation for misinterpretation. After all, numbers provide the illusion of universality. Everyone knows that 2 + 2 = 4, right. But numbers have meaning beyond equations and those meanings matter. As a result, the number 4 may mean nothing if it's how many people you've had sex with. But if it's the number of people you've had sex with at once, then it may feel different to your partner. Numbers are not cold, scientific, and discrete. At least not when it comes to sex. So while I'm busy figuring out how many books we'll print for the first edition, I thought I'd offer you a few counting exercises of your own. Remember to check your work! ~ Cory

Sex Statistics - What's in a Number?
The reason we count sex statistics is probably more important than the numbers we end up with. Here are some things to watch out for when you read those sex surveys, and links to some of the most cited surveys of sexual behavior in the U.S.

3 Things to Do with a Soft Penis
A few weeks ago an About.com reader emailed to say they had no idea what to do with their partner, who wanted to keep having sex without an erection. Here are the first three things I told her.

10 Things to do with a Clitoris
If you're interested in quantity alone, most clitoris' are bigger than penis' where it counts, in sexual sensitivity. Of course these two organs are so closely related to each other that comparing them as opposites doesn't really make any sense. Instead of comparing, why not start counting the ways that touch can bring pleasure through clitoral stimulation?
