| The people I come from believe that the act of remembering those who have died is itself a good thing. The idea that only those whose lives are marked by fame or celebrity are worth remembering, or that one must have done something that is easily memorialized by others in order to be worthy of a memorial, seems to me to be both sad and empty. So every year I take a few weeks to create my own list, one that remembers and celebrates the lives of people who in some way made the world a brighter, messier, or more complicated place in terms of sexuality and gender. Most of the names on the list are ones I didn't know until after they passed. Some were known to me, and some were friends. All are worth remembering, and whether they are new to you or not, spending a few minutes reading about who they were and how they touched others is a lovely way to send out a little positive energy to a world that needs it. ~ Cory |
| Remembering Our Sexual Losses 2013
This year's list includes 13 remarkable people - activists, educators, filmmakers, drag performers, politicians, and poets. Each of them made this world a better place with their presence and each will be missed. | Top Sex Questions of 2013
Every year I crunch the numbers to bring you a list of the most frequently accessed sex questions on About.com. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is supporting the future of condoms, and the future is nano. | Quotes on Sex and Sexuality
I'm not the kind of sex educator who offers pick up lines, this is as close as I get. From Dorothy Parker ("Heterosexuality is not normal, it's just common." to James Baldwin ("Money, it turned out, was exactly like sex, you thought of nothing else if you didn't have it and thought of other things if you did." a collection of quotable sex. | |
