With the record low temperatures and heavy snowfall around the U.S. this season, many people can't help but wonder if they're allergic to the cold. Most of us experience an annoying runny nose when outside in the cold -- although this really isn't an allergy. But while most of us are just bothered by frigid weather, some people actually are allergic to the cold. These people suffer from cold urticaria, a form of chronic hives that worsens with cold temperatures. Cold urticaria can even trigger anaphylaxis if the person has a severe cold exposure, such as jumping into a cold swimming pool.
