The second Dementia Thought Leaders Invitational Summit was held last week in Washington, D.C. and focused on person-centered care for people living with dementia. This conference involved practitioners across the country as well as people with dementia, their caregivers, researchers and policy developers.
At the conference, goals were set to flesh out how to provide person-centered care, what that really means for the person with dementia and what resources are needed to help this happen.
In light of this conference, today I'm highlighting what person-centered care is, how you can improve the quality of life for someone who has dementia, the importance of physical touch and 8 faith-based activities to address their spiritual needs.
