Esophageal Cancer

Esophageal adenocarcinoma is the fastest growing cancer in the western world. Major risk factors for this cancer are Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and Barrett's esophagus.

Stomach Cancer

Stomach cancer is a disease in which malignant (cancer) cells form in the lining of the stomach. One of the symptoms can be chronic heartburn.

Laryngeal Cancer

Cancer of the larynx (also be called laryngeal cancer) can develop in any part of the larynx, but most begins in the glottis. The inner walls of the larynx are lined with cells called squamous cells. Almost all laryngeal cancers begin in these cells. Some studies, including a study published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention (from American Association for Cancer Research), frequent heartburn was associated with cancers of the throat and vocal cords among nonsmokers and nondrinkers. The resources below will explain laryngeal cancer, list the risk factors, give you the symptoms, and explain the diagnosis and treatment options.

Barrett's Esophagus

Barrett's esophagus is a disorder in which the lining of the esophagus is damaged. This damage occurs when parts of the esophageal lining are repeatedly exposed to stomach acid, and are replaced by tissue that is similar to what is found intestine. This process is called intestinal metaplasia.
