From Marcia Purse, your Guide to Bipolar Disorder

Mork and Mindy made Robin Williams a star overnight. He was adorable, charismatic and wildly funny. I watched the show with my family every week. Nothing in the intervening years changed my opinion that he was a brilliant comedian - instead, my appreciation for him grew as he took on dramatic roles. I was heartbroken to learn of his death last week.

Bipolar Reactions to Robin Williams’ Suicide
The suicide of Robin Williams hit many with mental illnesses especially hard. Here are some of the things people with bipolar disorder had to say.

Robin Williams: “I’m Not Manic Depressive”
Robin Williams himself denied having either bipolar disorder or clinical depression. In the wake of his suicide, we now know his depression was severe.

Ben Stiller: "Sometimes You Just **** Up"
Ben Stiller is frank about having bipolar disorder. His parents - comedy team Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara - have also talked about being in therapy for depression.
