About

From Elizabeth Scott, M.S., your About.com Health Editor
Heart disease is the leading cause of death for men and women in the U.S. (While many people know that heart disease is a leading cause of death in men, it may come as a surprise to learn that it is also the leading cause of death in women, and kills more than twice as many women each year as breast cancer!) This week, we want to do everything we can to help you to lower your risk of developing heart disease, and live a healthier life in the process. Educate yourself and implement as many healthy changes as you can, and you can significantly lower your risk. Now is the time to start working on heart disease prevention!
