If you're questioning your ability to think and remember information, it may be time to have your memory and cognition tested. Physicians and other medical practitioners can administer a variety of tools to screen for these kinds of concerns.

One reason that it's important to have a memory screening and see your physician is that reversible conditions that cause memory loss could be detected and then treated.

Tests that Screen for Alzheimer's and Other Kinds of Dementia 

How do doctors decide if you have Alzheimer's disease? Along with blood tests and a medical assessment that rules out other reversible conditions that could cause memory loss, they also often use a screening test to see how well your brain is working.These screening tests evaluate your memory, attention, executive functioning, orientation and other cognitive abilities.
