I've been told that watching too much TV could be harmful, but I never really believed it. Then I read about a study which linked TV watching in teens with the later development of depression as young adults. The study wasn't able to explain why the teens were more prone to depression, but the authors suggested that maybe the time spent watching TV was time not spent doing activities that protect against depression, such socializing or playing sports. Could it be that teens who are watching a lot of TV are not developing any sort of skills for coping with life's stresses? Join the Discussion
