The best part of a workout often happens before you even do it. It's the beginning of the week and you're imagining yourself getting up early and heading outside. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and there you are, gliding along like a gazelle on the grassy plains of Africa. But then your alarm goes off at 5 a.m. and you can barely open your eyes and that gazelle starts to look suspiciously like a lumbering elephant.

This is the moment when a workout mantra can help.
