All nuts are special because they're rich in protein, minerals, vitamins and monounsaturated fats. But walnuts are extra-special because they're also a good source of omega-3 fatty acids. Research shows they're good for your heart and your brain. Walnuts are not high-maintenance in the kitchen -- they keep well in the fridge and don't require any fancy ingredients to make them palatable.
