Partner Yoga
Partner yoga can happen in a couple of ways. Often a teacher will assign partners in class for a stretching exercise or a pose where everyone could use a spotter. Partner yoga classes or workshops (which proliferate around Valentine's Day) are usually bring-your-own-partner, generally a loved one or close friend. Pose of the Week - Bridge Pose
I bet you are going to hear a lot about heart opening in yoga classes this Valentine's week. In backbends, try visualizing a string or a line of energy pulling your heart forward (or up, as in the case of bridge pose). For a passive heart-opener, try lying down flat with a block between your shoulder blades. I like to use one with rounded edges, like the Three Minute Egg.
