How To Manage Stress

From Elizabeth Scott, M.S., your Guide to Stress Management
"Hanging onto resentment is letting someone you despise live rent-free in your head." - Ann Landers
Many of us have things we need to let go of: resentments, toxic relationships, negative thinking patterns, etc. What many people find is that letting go is more difficult than it sounds. If there are things in your life you need to let go of, now is the time to start. Recognizing there's something you should no longer hold onto is the first step--give yourself a pat on the back! The next steps lie below. Enjoy your week, and I invite you to join me on Facebook or Twitter for more. -Elizabeth

Restructure Your Thoughts
Much of letting go is habit--our habitual thought patterns shape what we get angry about and what we allow to roll off of our backs. If you're having trouble with rumination, changing your thoughts is a way to attack those negative thoughts and turn them into something more positive.

A New Route to Forgiveness
Meditation has been shown to provide a wealth of benefits to your physical and emotional health. It can also be a very effective path toward forgiveness. Read more about how to forgive, and how meditation can help--after all, May is Meditation Month, so now is the perfect time!

Letting Go Of Toxic Relationships
Sometimes we need to let go of people who continually stress us. One of my favorite quotes is, "At some point, you have to realize that some people can be in your heart, but not in your life." Here is how to recognize who those people are, and keep them at a safe distance.
