What's the number one reason you have a hard time sticking to an exercise program? If you answered: "Because my sock drawer is way too chaotic for me to focus on a workout," you're a lot like many of us who can find any excuse to avoid exercise.

To be fair, a chaotic sock drawer is quite soul-sucking, particularly during that frustrating, fruitless search to find that one missing sock - Where did it go? Will we ever find it? Do we keep the sock in case we find its mate? We ask these questions knowing that we will find that missing sock...just as soon as we throw the other one away.

Aside from the sock-drawer defense, we often have deeper reasons for avoiding exercise and we usually end up making it much harder than it has to be.

Those missing socks certainly don't make it any easier.
