It's summer! Time to have a picnic, sit by the pool or on the beach, cook outside, and have informal get-togethers with friends and family. Sometimes disruptions in our routines can throw us off of healthy eating, but we don't need to let that happen. Summer is a great time to be a low-carber! Enjoy summer as much as you can! Laura

Summertime...and Low-Carbing is Easy
There are a lot of reasons why it's easier to eat low-carb in the summer, and I share some of them with you, along with low-carb tips especially for enjoying the summer. What is a Low-Carb Diet?
The term "low-carb" is defined in lots of different ways. Here are three of the main approaches.

Calling Foods "Carbs" Causes Confusion
I heard a news story the other day where it was stated that "carbs are a good source of phytonutrients". This type of thing drives me crazy. There has been a drift towards identifying foods with macronutrients (protein, carbohydrate, fat) and it causes a lot of confusion.
