| Sorting out emotional issues from biological ones isn't always easy. Eating too much carbohydrate can cause food cravings that can feel emotional. It's also been shown that our brains can react "emotionally" to food when, for example, leptin levels are lower, as they are after weight loss. One of my more popular blog posts over the years was one I wrote about this, so every once in awhile I bring it back. Above all, I think it's important not to beat ourselves up when we overeat, but try to use it as information to motivate us to try to keep cravings under control.
