From Laura Dolson, your Guide to Low Carb Diets
Atkins said that exercise is "non-negotiable", but many of us have a hard time finding the time or the motivation to fit in a regular exercise routine. Happily, a growing body of evidence says we don't need to spend oodles of time. One approach is short bursts of very high intensity exercise (which is very effective, but you probably need some coaching to get you started). Another approach is short bursts of ANY exercise. I've blogged about the latest study about this. Have an active week, even if only for a minute or so at a time! Laura

Less than 2 Minute of Exercise At a Time
One of the problems is that we sit for too long at a stretch. If we break it up, it turns out that makes a big difference. Exercising for 30 minutes in the morning and then sitting all day isn't nearly as good for our blood sugar as dividing that 30 minutes up and spreading it through the day. Good information for those of us with desk jobs!

Cut Carbs Gradually, or All at Once?
Is it better to reduce carbs gradually, or do an Atkins type of thing and start low, gradually increasing? I think it depends on the person, but there are also pros and cons to each approach.

What do you think? I put a poll on my blog last year where you can vote, and people related their experiences in the comments section.

Low Cost Low Carb
A lot of people find they spend more on groceries when eating low-carb, but it really needn't be that way. One thing I've been doing recently is cutting back some on protein and adding more fat. (Of course, I make sure I'm getting enough protein.) It turns out that calorie for calorie, fats are less expensive.
