It seems we are learning from the carefully managed Alaskan fisheries. This is great, because wild salmon is simply one of the best things we can eat, both in terms of flavor and because it's so good for us! Laura

Salmon Nutrition; Farmed Vs Wild
When I am making up my low-carb menus, I often have difficulty making them high enough in Vitamin D and calcium. But if I include a serving of canned salmon it's easy! I tell you all about salmon nutrition, the difference between farmed and wild salmon, and more. Then, tips about selecting and cooking salmon, with links to lots of low-carb recipes.

Tangy Grilled Salmon
The tangy glaze is sweet and spicy, and works very well with the rich taste of salmon. I like it for grilled salmon, but it's great on baked salmon as well. It's great with my ginger "guacamole", a super-simple side dish.

Oven-Baked Salmon with Herbs
This cooking technique is something of a miracle. The fish bakes at a low heat right on the platter you will serve it on. No pans to wash! And you won't believe how flavorful and moist the fish is. This recipe works will almost any herb or spice combination you like.

Salmon Salad Instead of Tuna
Did you know that canned salmon is almost always wild Alaskan salmon? It's tasty, it's more nutritious -- why not try salmon salad for a change? Here's the way I make it.
