A very common myth about low-carb diets is that we don't eat vegetables or fruits. Of course, we know that nothing could be further from the truth, particularly when it comes to the veggies. Did you know that when people start on a low-carb diet, they usually double, or even triple, the amount of vegetables they eat? This is because vegetables often replace starchy foods. This week, we're concentrating on wise choices when it comes to getting our vegetables and fruits. Have a healthy week - Laura

Low-Carb Vegetable List
This list is roughly from the lowest to the highest in carbs. Most are linked to carb profiles including carb and fiber counts, calories, and recipes. (I've been slowly adding more of these vegetables profiles over time.)

Low-Carb Fruit List
Most people can include fruit as part of a healthy low-carb diet. The trick is to choose the ones which are lowest in sugar (like berries) and avoid the high-sugar ones (like bananas and dates). Again, I link to pages about each fruit with carb counts, recipes, glycemic index, etc.

Saturated Fat Study Largely Ignored
In January, I wrote about an important study looking back on all the research about saturated fat in the diet, which concluded that there is no link between saturated fat and heart disease. Since it came out in print this month, I've been tracking the media reaction to the study. Here's what I've found.
