Managing Stress

From Elizabeth Scott, M.S., your Guide to Stress Management
When I wrote about Daylight Saving time on Friday, I saw several comments from people who are frustrated by the whole practice of Springing Forward (which, as I've stated, isn't my favorite activity either--I love to sleep in!). Seeing how many people were missing that extra hour of sleep (or play), I wanted to bring you a newsletter to address what you might be feeling right now. If you're sleepy, mildly frustrated by the lack of control you have in this situation, or in search of the 'bright side' of DST, there's plenty here for you! (And if you live in Arizona or a part of the world where DST isn't being practiced, you'll still find plenty here for managing stress.) Be sure to add your thoughts in the comments sections, scroll down to the 'Featured Articles' so you don't miss anything, feel free to forward or share at will, and above all, enjoy your week! -Elizabeth

Stress and Sleep Deprivation
Feeling sleep deprived? Here are some of the effects of sleep deprivation, with tips on how you can get more and better sleep in the future, and how you can feel more alert and less stressed right now.

How to Find Some Extra Time
If you're really missing that hour we lost over the weekend (or, for those of you who live in a part of the world where chock-changing isn't necessary, if you're just wishing you had more time), here are some resources for freeing up more hours in your week. Leave your own best time-finding tips in the comments section.

The Upside of Daylight Saving Time
Every dark cloud has a silver lining, and, though many people are vehemently opposed to Daylight Saving Time, there are some positives. See what I've come up with so far, and share your own best optimistic views.

Resilience: What Has Your Stress Done For You?
We may not realize it, but as much as we're defined by the goals we reach and the ways in which we choose to present ourselves, we're also defined by the challenges we face in life, and what we do to overcome them. Learn more about resilience, and share your thoughts in the comments section.
