Generally, people seem to have the idea that hypersexuality means wanting to have sexual encounters all the time, not caring who the partner is. But it's more than that - take a look. Manic Hypersexuality and Sexual Addiction Hypersexuality is often a symptom of the manic phase of bipolar disorder. But if this escalates into an obsession, the person may have developed a sexual addiction. Male Hypersexuality There is a line between being enjoying sex with its peripheral pleasures and sexual addiction. In sexual addiction long periods of time are given over to sex-related activities. Sex addicts feel unable to control sexual behavior or even reduce its incidence.
