Managing Stress

From Elizabeth Scott, M.S., your Guide to Stress Management
This newsletter brings a mix of research, anecdotes, and tips you can use, that all share a common thread: your outlook! By now you know that your perceptions of stress can shape your experience of it, so this newsletter goes a bit further--to how, specifically, you can alter your outlook, and what benefits that would bring. See if you can put at least one new practice into action this weekend, and see how your experience of stress may change as a result. In invite you to share your thoughts where possible (via 'comments', on Twitter, or in the Facebook group), scroll down for more articles, and have a wonderful rest-of-the-week! --Elizabeth

Stress and Your Health--You Have More Control Than You Think
See what new research on your health and your outlook can translate into greater wellbeing for you, and find tools to start the ball rolling today!

Gratitude From 'Younger Elizabeth'
When I found an old gratitude journal, I had some new insights. Read about what I found, what I want you to know, and what I'm both glad I didn't know and kind of which I had known: that I didn't have to write about 50 things per day for gratitude journaling to be effective! Also, I encourage you to share what you're grateful for, and read more about the benefits and practice of journaling in general and gratitude journaling in particular.

Feel Grateful, Sleep Better!
Sleep is so important and so affected by stress, that I wanted to remind you of this research on sleep and gratitude, and share some information on how to make an attitude of gratitude translate into a better night's sleep. (More resources on sleep, gratitude and journaling are included as well.)

Gratitude and Happiness: Research on The Link
Are people happier when they have what they want, or when they simply work on appreciating what they already have? The results may surprise you. Also, take a poll on the topic, and see what other readers have to say.
