Number of Sex Partners: What Your Number Says About You
Social scientists, and vapid freaky-economist-media-hounds are more than happy to come up with nonsense formulas that will tell you the ideal number of sexual partners you should have, or the number most people have before they find the "right" partner. All of this ignores the more interesting questions about why we're often afraid, embarrassed, or ashamed to tell someone how many sexual partners we've had in the past, and why even coming up with a number is harder than simple addition.

The assumption is that everyone has one sexual orientation, and that by the time you reach a certain age, you know what that is.
