| In recent newsletters, I've written about changes in the American Diabetes Association nutritional recommendations, and changes in Sweden which seem to be leading towards a formal acknowledgement of the value of low-carb diets. I hope that this means there is going to be a further push away from "one size fits all" recommendations, but that is clearly going to be very slow in happening. Yesterday my sister told me about a friend with rheumatoid arthritis who has experienced some dramatic improvements when she changed her diet. Which fruits have the most and the least sugar? Happily, the fruits with the highest nutritional content tend to have the least sugar. | Cranberry Time!
One example: cranberries. They are in the stores, and it's time for my annual pitch for the wonderfulness of cranberries. This low-carb super food is plentiful now, so grab some extra bags and throw them in the freezer. Then you can enjoy their sweet/tart goodness all year round! | |
