Communication- it's so important. And sometimes, it can be quite difficult.

As caregivers, friends, family members and professionals, it's our job to seek to understand how best to facilitate communication with the person with dementia. Learning how abstract thinking ability changes in dementia is one way that can help further that goal.

I've also included some information today about palliative care. Many people equate palliative care with hospice and with a care choice made when someone is close to death, but palliative care is more than that. It may be a helpful option for someone you know.
