FDA To Remove Avastin From Drugs For Metastatic Disease
The U.S. FDA says it will revoke its approval of Avastin for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer. The drug's maker, Genentech - will appeal the FDA's decision to practically deny treatment to some metastatic breast cancer. patients. The FDA says that Genentech hasn't proved that this drug really benefits breast cancer patients, but in Europe, its still being used.
