Pose of the Week - Warrior I - Virabhadrasana I
I often feel that I was very lucky to have such great teachers when I began doing yoga. I still use many of their alignment techniques today, such as the following trick for getting the most out of the sometimes neglected back bending potential of warrior I. I like to interlace the fingers behind my back and draw the hands down the back leg when first coming into the pose. After the heart has lifted, float the arms up over your head, keeping the open position of your chest.
