There's nothing more shocking than the day you wake up and realize you've become one of those people. You know, those people who answer the question, "How are you?" with, "Well, my hip's still bothering me and I have to go back to the doctor to check my cholesterol, but the good news is, my back hurts so much, I barely even notice my knee pain!"

The thing about getting older is that stuff hurts more and it hurts enough that it becomes a regular topic of conversation, whether other people want to hear about it or not.

Still, I'm always inspired by all by the people, many of them my own clients, who keep showing up for their workouts, even when they're dealing with stuff that hurts. I'm sure many of you fall into that group and, if you do, take a moment to pat yourself on the back (unless it's your shoulder that's bothering you) and appreciate your dedication and perseverance. You may not realize it, but you're an inspiration!
