Wherever I go lately (grocery store, school pick up, Twitter), people are talking about how terrible their allergies are this spring. It seems the wet winter has served up a heaping dose of pollen and many folks are suffering. Here are some yoga practices that offer relief for allergy symptoms.

Yoga for Allergies
Breathing exercises and inverted poses may help clear out your nasal passages, helping you breath a little more easily.

Do You Neti?
People either love or hate the neti pot. Devotees claim it helps reduce the chance you'll get a sinus infection to compound your allergies.

Kapalabhati Breath
Personally, I prefer a few rounds of kapalabhati breath. This breath can be a little tricky to learn, so ask your teacher to show you if you don't know how. Seems like all my teachers have been breaking this one out lately.

Pose of the Week - Staff Pose - Dandasana
Sitting up straight with your legs outstretched seems simple enough, right? But, as with many yoga poses that look simple, there's a lot more going on with staff pose than meets the eye. Give it a try if you're wondering what I mean, and check out Aunt Yoga's advice on the correct arm position in this pose.
