Life has been busy for me since getting back from the cruise, but I finally was able to write up the final day and some thoughts summing up the experience. It was full of interesting topics and people and I hope some of it will be helpful to you. Have a wonderful week - Laura

Low-Carb Cruise: Final Day and Summing Up
William Davis of Wheat Belly and lipidologist Chris Masterjohn spoke on our last day. In the afternoon everyone was looking forward to the 2.5 hour panel Q&A. Questions included "Is it OK to have a weekly indulgence meal?" and "How do you handle people who push high-carb foods at you?" There were lots of great responses from the speakers.

High Fiber, Low Carb
People argue about how helpful fiber is for our health, but I know it's helpful for me, and I think there's fair amount of evidence that it's good for colon health. Here is a list of foods which give you a lot of fiber for not much usable carbohydrate.

How Much Carbohydrate?
People can sometimes get frustrated with me for not just telling them how much carbohydrate to eat, but there really is no one answer to this question. Here are some thoughts about how to find out the right amount for you.

What are Sugar Alcohols?
Look on the label of a sugar-free candy, and you're likely to see words like maltitol, xylitol, and sorbitol. These are sugar alcohols. However, they aren't actually sugar or alcohol. So what are these substances and how will they affect your body?
