Okay, I know not everyone who has a mental illness can joke about it, so don't take offense if that describes you. I'm one who does have a sense of humor about it. The first appearance of any psychiatric illness after childbirth can ultimately result in a diagnosis of bipolar disorder. The figures are rather startling - 14% of women who were first treated for a mental illness (except bipolar) within 30 days of giving birth were ultimately diagnosed with BP.
