I dropped in on a class this morning where the teacher explained that, in addition to election-related stress, we were all about to feel the disorienting effects of Mercury going retrograde. (Doesn't it seem like Mercury is always in retrograde? When I asked, the teacher explained it happens three or four times a year.) She recommended a calming, grounding practice and I couldn't agree more. Go vote!

Grounding Poses
My favorite yoga warm-up sequence does double duty as a list of suggested grounding poses. These gentle postures keep you close to the floor and stretching the areas of the body that hold tension, like the shoulders and hips.
