There are several types of dementia, with the most common one being Alzheimer's disease. Below, I've highlighted two other kinds: fatal familial insomnia and corticobasal degeneration.

There's also an article explaining what the clock-drawing test is, how it's scored and how it's used to screen for dementia. My hope is that this practical explanation can help shed some light on one of the most widely used tools in diagnosing dementia.
