 It's pretty clear that nuts, in general, are good for us.  They seem to be heart-healthy and there is also evidence that they can aid in weight loss.  For low-carbers, they can provide nutrients that are found in whole grains without all the starch.  But which nuts are best?  Here is some information to help you choose.  Also, info about choosing coffee drinks, and some intriguing information about the role of fats for mammals.  Have a healthy week!  Laura

Is Fat the Natural Energy Source for Mammals?

 There's an idea in some paleo blogs  that for most mammals, the primary energy source is fats. For example, the microbes in the guts of cows convert a lot of cellulose to fats, so that cows end up getting 60-80% of their energy from them! Last year I looked into this claim, and what I found was pretty interesting.


Carbs in Coffee Drinks
