Yes, I know the Daylight Saving Time switch over was last week, but the truth is I don't have any advice about how to adjust to the time change. In fact, my family seem to be still on the old schedule and everyone is going to bed too late and oversleeping in the morning. What I can help you with, however, is your jumping.

Ashtanga Jump Through
Tips I brought home from a Davis Swenson workshop on the illusive Ashtanga jump through.

Sun Salutation A - Surya Namaskara A
The basic Ashtanga sun salutation also includes jumping. When jumping forward from downward dog, try to land as quietly as possible. The strongest yogis can take this jump up into a handstand before landing. Though this may not be possible for many of us, it helps to create an image of lightness.

Pose of the Week - Standing Big Toe Pose
A few weeks ago, we looked at reclined big toe pose. Now here's the same pose, rotated 90 degrees: standing big toe pose. Of course, balancing on one leg now enters the mix. I once had a teacher who liked to have us do squats in this position, going up and down while keeping hold of the toe. Give it a try if you feel like falling down laughing.
