So now that we're one month into the new year, how are those resolutions going? Don't feel bad if a few have fallen by the wayside. It's easy to get too caught up in the idea of January first, when really you can start to make positive changes in your life any old day you want.

Start Small
Adding yoga into your hectic morning routine isn't so hard when you keep your expectations realistic. Make ten minutes of yoga your goal. I find that starting the day off on this note helps promote healthier choices throughout the day.

Avoid Yoga Injuries
Yoga injuries have been back in the news lately. While it's impossible to completely remove the risk from doing yoga (as with any physical endeavor), you can minimize it but learning to make smart choices in your practice.

Pose of the Week - Reclined Big Toe Pose
Keeping the theme of good warm-up stretches from last week (see eye of the needle), you can't go wrong with supta padangusthasana. If your hamstrings are tight, bend your knee and put the sole of your foot on the floor (talking about the bottom leg here). Otherwise, keep both feet flexed and take some deep breaths before switching sides.
