From Ann Pizer, your Guide to Yoga
The flu is making its ghastly rounds with particular virulence this year. Can yoga help you avoid getting sick? Though yoga is often cited for its ability to boost the immune-system, the subject hasn't been adequately researched to make an absolute claim one way or the other. There is anecdotal evidence, however, that suggests the ability of yoga to reduce stress and improve well-being could help you avoid getting sick. So go on out to your yoga classes, as long as you are healthy and take the proper hygienic precautions.

Pose of the Week - Flying Crow - Eka Pada Galavasana
Flying crow has reared its head in the last three classes I've taken, which is more than enough to earn it a place as the pose of the week. Though this pose looks precarious, it's really all about stacking one body part on top of the next until you achieve lift-off. Pigeon is essential preparation since you have to be able to get that firm grip on your upper arm with the opposite foot, and crow will teach you how to manage your center of gravity in almost all other arm balances.
