From Cory Silverberg, your Guide to Sexuality
As parents prepare their kids to get back into a routine of school, and as kids prepare to survive another year there are two things we can say with certainty. First, their teachers probably aren't preparing appropriate sex education lessons as part of their curriculum. Second, in order to stay safe and healthy parents need to talk with their children about sex. Parents can't do it all, but sex ed. really should start at home. If you've got a kid you're more than half way there. This week it's back to school for people with kids. Next week we'll do back to school for the adults themselves. ~ Cory

What Age Should Sex Education Start?
There isn't one right time to start, and most sex educators will tell you that it's a lifelong process (because sexuality is just another part of life). The thing to realize is that if you have kids you're already teaching them about sexuality. So why not do it consciously?

Talking About Porn: When Avenue Q Won't Do
If you missed your chance to see the puppet show that sings about porn, you should check it out. But I wouldn't recommend it for your kids, or as a form of sex education. Instead, if you're wondering how to talk about something as touchy as pornography with your school age child, here are some pointers. Like it or not, the world we live in now includes easy access to sexually explicit content, which means talking about porn is a form of street proofing everyone with kids should think about.

How to Talk with Kids About Masturbation
Most kids will have figured out how to touch themselves in ways that feel good long before you're ever going to talk to them about masturbation. It's the most commonly practiced sexual act in the world, and while you don't need to belabor it, there should be at least a brief conversation about it. Here are some tips on how to start.

A Parent's Dilemma: Nudity in the Home
Is there is an age when you're supposed to stop being naked in front of your kids?
