| | If you pay attention to health stories in the news, you probably saw this one last week, telling us of a study that "proved" that low-carbers who eat meat die at a greater rate than those eating plants. This is the type of thing that drives me crazy, because when you actually read the study, you discover something entirely different. This week I take a look at the study, and then at the response of one of low-carb's most outspoken critics. Of course, plants have lots of good things for us, and I also have lists of low-carb veggies and fruits. Enjoy delicious low-carb food this week! In this study I'd be both a "plant-based" AND an "animal-based" low-carb eater, and probably most of you would be as well. | Dean Ornish Swings and Misses Dean Ornish is perhaps the chief proponent of a high-carb, low-fat diet.
