From Ann Pizer, your Guide to Yoga
Many people both in and out of the yoga community were moved and inspired recently by a video posted on YouTube chronicling the transformation of veteran Arthur Boorman, who used a yoga-based fitness system to drastically improve his health. (Refresh your memory here.) The program he used is DDP Yoga, so of course I wanted to see what this method is all about. Let's take a look at a few other fitness-based approaches to yoga too.

DDP Yoga
It ain't your mamas yoga. Or is it? Get the ins and outs of this program developed by former pro wrestler Diamond Dallas Page.

Mandy Ingber's Yogalosophy
Best known as Jennifer Aniston's trainer, Mandy Ingber's approach to yoga is a definite workout. She transforms traditional yoga poses with the addition of toning exercises that will have you feeling the burn.

AntiGravity Yoga
AntiGravity Yoga moves are derived from Pilates, dance, and calisthenics, in addition to yoga. This fitness trend, which is becoming increasingly available in gyms and specialized studios, is a fun way to explore supported inversions and backbends.

Pose of the Week - Camel Pose - Ustrasana
If you were to ask me my favorite back bend of the moment (and people sometimes do), I'd be pretty quick with an answer: ustrasana. Among its many charms, I find it to be much easier to come into a deep backbend when I'm not feeling any strain in my wrists (I'm looking at you, full wheel) or uncomfortable pressure in the pelvis (ditto, bow pose). If you have sensitive knees, take a blanket under them and enjoy customizing your camel.
