Sexual Health

From Cory Silverberg, your Guide to Sexuality
Canadian researchers presented a paper on Monday about the prevalence of sexsomnia, also known as sleep sex. I was surprised by how many people reported experiencing it, but less surprised by how few ever talked to a doctor about it. Only four out of over 800 patients who were at a sleep clinic because of suspected sleep disorder report talking to the sleep specialist about their sonambulatory sexual encounters. This would be one of those times when it's good to speak up, even if someone is sleeping. ~ Cory

Is Sleep Sex Real?
Is it possible to initiate sex when you're asleep and have sex without ever waking up? It sounds like a good set up for a Rodney Dangerfield joke, except it's been used as a defense for sexual assault, and Rodney Dangerfield is dead.

After Abstinence-Only
The U.S. government has begun to fund research into sex education curricula that don't focus solely on an abstinence-only message. These programs, sometimes called comprehensive sex education are touted as being more science based and less based in fear or particularly religious doctrine. But do they work any better?

Whimsical Sex Toy of the Month: Tenga Eggs
Tenga is a company that is putting the fun and whimsy back into male masturbation. Okay, maybe the fun never left, but when was the last time you saw a sex toy made for a penis and thought, wow, that's actually cute, I want to touch that?

Sex Tips for the Rest of Us: EroticObjectification
There's nothing like being lusted after. While sexual objectification can be a terrible thing when it is unwanted and intrusive, knowing that the mere sight or touch of our body can drive our partners to lusty distraction can be an enormous aphrodisiac (and a great ego boost). This sex tip is all about sexualizing something new.
