One of the most frequent sentences heard in the fitness world starts like this: "I swear, just when I get into a great exercise routine...."
It usually ends with some unforeseen event, as in: "I swear, just when I get into a great exercise routine, my mother comes to visit/my hip starts hurting/my boss becomes even more of a jerk/my kid gets sick/an angel loses a wing."
There seems to be no end to the life events that happen all through...well...life: Colds, injuries, travel, hangnails. Some of these events are enough to stop your workouts completely (hangnails can really hurt).
Most of us have at least one recurring event that derails us just when we're getting the hang of this exercise thing. What's yours?
