We're doing a fun thing in the Health section of About.com (or at least what passes for a "fun thing" among health writers). We're writing "10 Things to Stop Doing" lists, which will all be compiled together at the end of the week. So we'll have everything from "10 Things to Stop Doing if you Have Cancer" to "10 Things to Stop Doing in Yoga Class". Here's my contribution, and next week I'll link to the whole list. 10 Things to Stop Doing on a Low-Carb Diet
Since this list is going out to some people who aren't already eating low-carb, I included some obvious ones ("Stop drinking sugary drinks."), but I hope there will be something in there for everyone.

Speaking of sugary drinks, here's the page of my "How to Cut Carbs" e-course that addresses them, and has links to low-carb beverages.

What is a Carb?
What people call "carbs" has been drifting, and frankly becoming more and more confusing. I heard someone calling vegetables "carbs" on TV last week, and it reminded me of something I wrote last year about it when I was irritated about the whole thing.

Is Dreamfields Pasta Really Low-Carb?
I get a fair number of questions about this pasta. Last year I talked with a scientist from Dreamfields who explained about how they test the pasta. Then I communicated with a scientist who did a study published in Diabetes Care which showed very different results from Dreamfields' claims. What are we to make of these wild differences? Plus, there's important information about using Dreamfields pasta - you can definitely shoot the carb count up if you bake it with tomato sauce, for example.
