A new Canadian study has concluded that the little things really do add up. After performing fMRI scans on 331 healthy adults from age 19 to 79, they found that those who regularly climb flights of stairs were more likely to have “younger” brains. For every flight of stairs climbed per day, physical brain age was about half a year younger. The study also found that for each year of education received, the brain was roughly one year younger. Perhaps it’s time to join a college with a lot of broken elevators? |
