How To Manage Stress

From Elizabeth Scott, M.S., your Guide to Stress Management
"I've tried yoga, but I find stress less boring." -Anonymous
This quote makes me smile, even though I know yoga to be a great stress relief tool, and recommend it all the time. The quote, however, points out the important reality that not all stress relief techniques work for all people. If you find yourself falling asleep during meditation and anxiously watching the clock during yoga, this newsletter is for you. Read on, have some fun, and enjoy the rest of your week! And join us on Facebook for more fun quotes, great articles, and the opportunity to connect with others on stress management. --Elizabeth

Non-Boring Stress Relief
I have heard from several readers and clients that meditation is more stressful than stress relieving because it's experienced by many as boring, or difficult to master. That's why stress management is not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing. While there are many wonderful benefits to stress relief techniques like yoga, meditation, and similarly calm practices, some people find that they create more stress by being boring or inaccessible. If you can relate, read more about this, and find resources for relieving stress.

Stress Tips For "Type A" Types
I'm not saying that if you find yoga and meditation to be boring, then you are automatically "Type A." However, if these stress relief techniques generally appeal to people who want to make their time count, they will likely appeal to you, too. "Type A" or not, these stress relief techniques can help you relax without putting you to sleep!
